**Caleres Appoints First-Ever Design Chief**

**St. Louis, MO – June 29, 2023** – Caleres (NYSE: CAL), a global leader in footwear and accessories, today announced the appointment of Shannon Coyne as its first-ever Design Chief, effective July 10, 2023. In this newly created role, Coyne will lead the creative vision across Caleres’ portfolio of iconic brands, including Famous Footwear, Sam Edelman, Naturalizer, Allen Edmonds, and Dr. Scholl’s Shoes. She will report directly to Caleres’ Chief Executive Officer, Jay Schmidt.
“Shannon is a seasoned creative leader with a proven track record of success in the fashion and footwear industries. Her expertise in design, brand building, and product development will be invaluable to Caleres as we continue to elevate our portfolio of brands and deliver innovative products to our customers,” said Schmidt.
Coyne brings over two decades of experience in the footwear and accessories industry to Caleres. She joins the company from Steve Madden, where she served as President of the Steve Madden Canada and Latin America divisions, overseeing all aspects of business operations, including product development, marketing, sales, and retail operations. Prior to that, she held various leadership roles at Aldo Group, including Vice President of Design and Chief Creative Officer, where she was responsible for the creative direction and product development for all of the company’s brands.
